Watch our special edition of #TheRoundUp where we’ll be discussing the Virginia Key Beach Drama, the Board being replaced, and the weird reason the City of Miami said that they needed to take over.
Just so yall know that beach was the ONLY beach Black People in Miami could go to during segregation and we made it our own! It’s important that we care about what happens to it. The board who managed the park was mainly Black people and dedicated community members and for some reason, the City of Miami kicked them off so they can manage the board and control the park. That seems sketchy af if you ask me. Hear my thoughts on what happened and what we as a community can do next!
Read the open letter from Black Community Leaders who urged the City of Miami to not disband the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust Advisory Board.
