The Miami Gardens Chamber of Commerce has joined with The Solar Energy Loan Fund (SELF) to provide financial support to low and moderate income homeowners to make repairs to their homes and need approved contractors to do the work.
As a result the Miami Gardens Chamber is hosting a workshop for contractors to apply to participate in these upcoming home repair projects in the North Miami-Dade County area. The event will take place Nov. 10th from 5pm- 6:30pm at St. Stephens AME Church, located at 3400 NW 215th Street in Miami Gardens.
The workshop will enable contractors to join the SELF network by expanding their businesses to more homeowners, including low and moderate income (LMI) and people with low credit. There are no fees to join the network and there is a zero cost of capital for their projects. Contractors will also learn how to finance “hard to finance” clients for major repairs.
As a non-profit lender, SELF finances sustainable home improvements such as impact windows, roof replacement, high-efficiency air conditioners, septic-to-sewer conversions and rooftop solar panels that lower electric bills and make homes safer, healthier, and more resilient.
