Miami’s Haitian community is set to celebrate culture, legacy, and fútbol all in one place this weekend. The 2026 ART BEAT MIAMI Haitian Heritage Month Kick-off to Goal! event will take place Sunday, May 24, at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex.
The free public event, produced by ART BEAT MIAMI in partnership with the Little Haiti Optimist Club, will honor members of Haiti’s historic 1974 National Team, the first Haitian squad to compete in the FIFA World Cup. Organizers say the celebration is meant to recognize Haiti’s impact on sports, arts, and culture while Miami becomes a global hotspot for international fútbol festivities this summer.
Hosted by Carel Pedre, the afternoon celebration will feature live entertainment from the Ambiance Creole Jazz Band, performances by Sheila B and the NSL Dance Ensemble, plus music from DJ Mack.
Guests can also expect live painting, interactive cultural activities, artistic showcases, and the unveiling of a commemorative poster and magazine dedicated to Haitian heritage and the country’s connection to “The Beautiful Game.”
“This event is more than a celebration, it is a tribute to Haitian excellence, resilience, and global influence through sports, arts, and culture,” ART BEAT MIAMI producer Marie Louissaint said in a statement. “As Miami becomes an international hub for fútbol this summer, we are proud to honor Haiti’s legacy and inspire future generations through this unique cultural experience.”
Food and beverages will be provided by Chefs of the Caribbean and Caleb Café & Grill. Complimentary commemorative posters and magazines will also be available while supplies last.
The event is free and open to the public, with registration recommended.
