City of Miami Gardens Councilwoman Linda Julien Honors Tenisha Williams for Black Excellence in Real Estate

The Miami Gardens City Council recently recognized local real estate leader Tenisha Williams for her impact on housing, economic development and community investment in South Florida.

City of Miami Gardens Councilwoman Linda Julien presented Williams, CEO and licensed real estate broker, with an official City Commendation, honoring what she described as “Black Excellence in Real Estate” and transformative leadership within the region’s housing sector.

Williams is the co-founder and CEO of Elite Realty Partners, an independent brokerage that has generated more than $850 million in closed sales in just seven years. The firm has grown to become one of Florida’s top Black, female-owned independent real estate companies and has expanded operations into Georgia.

In Miami Gardens alone, Elite Realty Partners has facilitated more than 200 property sales, reflecting a sustained presence and investment in the local housing market.

During the ceremony, Williams reflected on the historical weight of the recognition.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from Councilwoman Linda Julien during Black History Month,” Williams said in a press statement. “There was a time in this country when Black families were legally barred from owning property in many communities, and Black women were systematically excluded from leadership in real estate and finance. To now be recognized for building, brokering, and investing in the very communities once redlined is both humbling and historic.”

She added that the commendation represents “not just personal achievement, but the undeniable power of ownership, resilience, and generational vision to transform our narrative and our neighborhoods.”

In 2026, Williams was elected to serve on the Board of Governors for the Miami Association of Realtors, one of the largest Realtor associations in the country — a move that further solidified her standing within the industry.

Beyond brokerage leadership, Williams and her husband and business partner, Darrell Williams, invest in and revitalize residential properties throughout Miami Gardens. Their work focuses on strengthening neighborhoods, increasing property values and expanding access to quality housing.

Through the Elite Heartwork Foundation, Williams also supports scholarship programs for graduates of Miami Carol City Senior High School and Miramar High School. The foundation additionally promotes financial literacy, mentorship and broader economic empowerment initiatives.

Councilwoman Julien said Williams’ work reflects a broader vision for generational wealth-building and community transformation.

“Tenisha Williams exemplifies Black Excellence through visionary leadership, economic impact, and an unwavering commitment to community transformation,” Julien said in a press statement. “Her success in building one of Florida’s top Black, female-owned real estate brokerages while investing directly into neighborhoods like Miami Gardens reflects the power of ownership, resilience, and generational vision. We are proud to recognize her remarkable contributions to housing, wealth-building, and opportunity in our city.”
