The Black Professionals Network (BPN), a social enterprise dedicated to uplifting Black professionals through networking, financial empowerment, and legacy-building initiatives, will host its 10th Annual Summit on November 22 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. This year’s event, themed “LegacyCon: House of Heroes,” will feature entrepreneur and two-time New York Times Best Selling Author Fawn Weaver as the keynote speaker.
Weaver, co-founder of Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, will address the summit on resilience and empowerment, embodying the summit’s theme of building legacy and celebrating Black excellence. The whiskey brand, named in honor of Nathan “Nearest” Green—a formerly enslaved man who taught Jack Daniel the art of distilling—has been a success story of honoring Black history and innovation in business.
“We are honored to have Fawn Weaver join us at this year’s #BPNSummit,” said Kenasha Paul, Founder and CEO of BPN, in a press release. “Her remarkable journey of preserving the legacy of Uncle Nearest resonates deeply with our mission. Fawn exemplifies the spirit of empowerment and resilience, reminding us that each of us holds the key to unlocking our potential and creating a meaningful legacy—we are the heroes we’ve been waiting for.”
In addition to Weaver, the summit will feature an array of prominent speakers, including Felecia Hatcher, CEO of Black Ambition Prize; Marquis Miller, Vice President of Economic Development for the Obama Foundation; and Ryan Wilson, Co-Founder and CEO of The Gather Spot. These thought leaders will share insights on economic development and pathways to achieving accredited investor status.

A major highlight of the summit is the launch of the Black Real Estate Investment Council (BRIC), a new division under BPN. This initiative will focus on educating Black professionals in real estate investment and development, led by prominent figures in the South Florida real estate sector. BRIC leadership includes Kareem Brantley of Florida Integral, Evans Gedeon of Neucor Construction, Chad P. Musgrove of M&T Realty Capital Corporation, and Timothy Merriman Jr. of NAI Miami | Fort Lauderdale Commercial Real Estate Services.
In addition to thought-provoking talks and panels, the summit will include a variety of social events designed to foster networking and community building, including the Power Up Walk & Run, an All-Black Soiree, a Heroes Brunch, and a Yacht Sail Send-Off.
Through its events, including this annual summit, BPN aims to empower one million Black professionals by providing the resources necessary to become Certified Legacy Builders (CLBs)—individuals equipped to build generational wealth and impactful legacies. BPN’s ongoing work includes monthly networking mixers across the U.S. and professional development academies focused on positioning Black professionals at the forefront of innovation, leadership, and economic growth.
