Luminosa Festival Returns to Jungle Island with Expanded Fairytale and Holiday Experiences

Miami’s Jungle Island is set to relaunch its annual Luminosa festival on November 14, now in its third year. The event, a collaboration with LEKTRIK Art, will showcase a fresh lineup of immersive installations and introduce a Holiday Village for the first time.

This year, Luminosa draws visitors into a fairytale-inspired world, beginning with a grand entryway that opens to a “storybook journey.” A highlight of the experience, the illuminated book walkway features animated books and butterflies, creating an inviting start to the event. Other attractions include nine large dragon lanterns set along Jungle Island’s water features, drawing inspiration from the nine sons of the Dragon King in Chinese folklore.

The festival’s additional themed areas offer mythical creatures, kawaii-style walkthroughs, a candy-themed playground, and bioluminescent effects that bring the park’s tropical landscape to life at night. Guests can also enjoy live acrobatic performances, holiday-themed food and drink options, photo zones, and a shopping bazaar, creating an event suitable for visitors of all ages.

This year, Jungle Island adds a European-inspired Holiday Village open through January 5. Nestled within the park’s forest, it features over 100 decorated Christmas trees, food stands with seasonal treats, and a marketplace for holiday crafts and gifts. The Holiday Village is centered around a 30-foot Christmas tree and aims to create a festive experience for visitors.

Luminosa 2024 will present larger, more elaborate lantern scenes than previous years, including over 40 handcrafted lamp displays. Using more than 150 tons of steel, 200,000 feet of silk-like fabric, 56,000 LED bulbs, and 700,000 feet of LED lights, the festival brings to life a display crafted by over 200 artists, welders, seamstresses, and technicians from around the world.

Luminosa will run from November 14 through March 8, 2025. The festival is open Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and on weekends until 11 p.m. The Holiday Village will be open from November 14 to January 5.

Tickets, which went on sale October 15, are priced at $30.78 for adults on weekdays and $46.88 on weekends, while children’s tickets range from $21.58 to $33.08. Discounts are available for families, groups, seniors, students, and military personnel.
