OIC of South Florida’s Middle Class Summit Returns to Broward With Focus on AI, Housing and Economic Mobility

OIC of South Florida is bringing its Middle Class Summit back to Broward County this month, with business leaders, policymakers, educators and workforce experts set to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing working families.

The 2026 Middle Class Summit will take place Sept. 9-10 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, bringing together more than 500 regional and national leaders for two days of discussions centered on the future of the American middle class.

The summit, themed “Imagine. Innovate. Elevate.”, comes as OIC of South Florida marks 25 years of work focused on workforce development and economic opportunity.

2024 Middle Class Summit

This year’s programming will focus on four issues increasingly shaping the financial stability of working families: artificial intelligence and its impact on the workforce, affordable housing, access to health care and the systems that influence long-term economic mobility.

Among the confirmed speakers are U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Broward County Mayor Mark Bogen, Broward County Administrator Monica Cepero, Broward County Transit CEO Coree Cuff Lonergan and OIC of America President and CEO Louis King.

The summit will also feature a co-chair panel with representatives from Ballard Partners, Florida Power & Light, South Florida Business Journal and Bilzin Sumberg.

For OIC of South Florida President and CEO Newton B. Sanon, the conversations come at a critical moment for workers navigating rapid changes in the economy.

“The middle class isn’t just under pressure — it’s at a genuine turning point, and the decisions being made right now about AI, housing and healthcare will determine whether working families in South Florida move forward or fall behind,” Sanon said in a press statement.

Sanon, who founded the Middle Class Summit, said the event is intended to put the people shaping workforce and economic opportunities in the same room to focus on practical solutions.

The 2026 summit builds on the organization’s 2024 event, which brought hundreds of regional leaders together for panels, keynote presentations and networking.

This year’s gathering expands its focus on artificial intelligence and how emerging technology could reshape jobs and career pathways, while continuing conversations around workforce development, entrepreneurship and community investment.

The summit is supported by sponsors including JPMorgan Chase, Amazon, TD Bank, SouthState Bank, Uber and CareerSource South Florida.

Registration for the 2026 Middle Class Summit is currently open, with sponsorship opportunities also available for organizations interested in participating.
