A Free Date Night With a Purpose: South Florida Couples Conference Aims to Strengthen Relationships

There’s Still Time to Register for a Free “Date Night” Conference on September 19 featuring interactive discussions and practical tools for building stronger families

South Florida couples will have an opportunity to reconnect, strengthen communication and invest in their relationships at an upcoming free conference hosted by Community-Based Connections, Inc. (CBCI).

The nonprofit human services organization will host its Stronger Together Couples Conference on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the West Palm Beach Marriott. The free “date night” experience is open to married, dating and co-parenting couples, as well as parents looking to build healthier family relationships.

The evening will focus on practical strategies for navigating the challenges that can put pressure on relationships and families. Attendees can expect interactive sessions, panel discussions and a complimentary dinner, with conversations centered on communication, trust, connection and family stability.

“Healthy relationships and strong families do not happen by accident,” said Mikelange Olbel, president and CEO of Community-Based Connections, Inc, in a press statement. “They require commitment, communication and a willingness to continue growing together.”

Olbel said the conference is designed to meet couples wherever they are in their relationships, including those who are married, dating, co-parenting or working to rebuild a strained relationship.

“Our goal is bigger than one evening,” Olbel said in the statement. “When we strengthen relationships, we strengthen mothers, fathers and children. Stronger families create stronger communities, and that is at the heart of the work CBCI has been committed to for more than 16 years.”

Supporting Families Beyond One Night

The Stronger Together conference is part of CBCI’s H.E.A.R.T. (Helping Every Area of Relationships Thrive) Family Strengthening Program, a five-year initiative serving families in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families, Office of Family Assistance, the program provides workshops, individualized support and other services designed to help adults and couples strengthen their relationships, improve parenting practices and build greater family stability.

Those services include childcare, transportation and counseling, extending support beyond the conference itself.

How to Register

The Stronger Together Couples Conference is free, but registration is required.

The conference takes place Saturday, Sept. 19, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the West Palm Beach Marriott, 1001 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach.
