As the Aug. 18 Primary Election draws closer, Miami-Dade voters will have the opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking seats on the County Commission during a three-night series of virtual forums hosted by Vote Miami.
The nonpartisan forums, moderated by local journalists, will feature candidates running for Miami-Dade County Commission Districts 2, 5 and 8. According to Vote Miami, the discussions will focus on questions submitted by residents and community stakeholders, covering topics such as housing affordability, transportation, neighborhood investment, public safety, infrastructure, economic opportunity and quality of life.
The forums will also include live interpretation in Spanish, Haitian Creole and American Sign Language to improve accessibility for viewers.

Tuesday, July 28
District 8 Forum
7 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday, July 29
District 5 Forum
7 to 8 p.m.

7 to 8 p.m.
Candidates:
- Marleine Bastien*
- Ernst Jean Louis*
- Miguel “Skip” Quintero
*Participation by Bastien and Jean Louis is subject to candidate confirmation.
According to Vote Miami, the forums are designed to give voters an opportunity to compare candidates’ positions on issues that directly affect daily life, including housing, transportation, economic development and neighborhood investment, before casting their ballots in the primary election.
