Residents across North Miami-Dade will have an opportunity to access free health services, food assistance, wellness resources and community support during the Cultivating Care Community Fair: Wellness Day at the Grove.
Hosted by Urban Health Partnerships (UHP) with support from the Quest Diagnostics Foundation, the free event is designed to connect individuals and families with healthcare, nutrition, environmental resilience resources and other essential services in one location.
Organizers say the event addresses ongoing challenges many Miami-Dade residents face when trying to access healthcare, healthy food and supportive community resources.
The fair is being presented in partnership with the Food & Nutrition for All Collaborative, Florida International University Foundation, the School of Integrated Science and Humanity within FIU’s College of Arts, Sciences and Education, Black Mothers Care Plan, Southern Birth Justice Network, U.S. Hunger’s Full Cart Connect, the Miami-Dade Age-Friendly Initiative, Farm Share and several community organizations.
Attendees will have access to free food distribution, prenatal and maternal care supplies, health screenings, resource navigation and wellness programming throughout the day.
Quest Diagnostics will provide free lab testing to help participants identify potential risks for diabetes, heart disease and other preventable health conditions. The Southern Birth Justice Network’s Mobile Midwife Clinic will offer prenatal and postpartum support, while families can also participate in nutrition education and mom-and-baby wellness programming.
The event will also feature cooling stations and environmental resilience resources aimed at helping residents navigate extreme heat and climate-related challenges. Older adults will have an opportunity to participate in a Miami-Dade Age-Friendly Initiative advisory meeting, and Oak Grove Park will be recognized through an Age-Friendly Park Certification for its commitment to supporting healthy aging.
Additional activities include prenatal and maternal yoga, family-friendly wellness activities, educational workshops and opportunities to connect with local organizations providing community services.
The day’s schedule begins with food distribution at 9 a.m., followed by welcome remarks at 10 a.m. Health screenings, community resources and wellness activities will continue throughout the afternoon.
Community partners include Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, the American Heart Association, United Way Miami, Buddy System, Farm Share, FHEED LLC, Urban Farming Institute and several other local organizations.
The event is free and open to the public.
