Chairman Anthony Rodriguez is proud to announce the return of the Youth Engagement Program (YEP) for 2026, building on the success of its inaugural year and continuing its mission to inspire and prepare the next generation of civic leaders in Miami-Dade County. Scheduled to take place July 13 through July 24, 2026, the two-week program offers high school students a unique, hands-on opportunity to learn about local government, public policy, and community leadership.
“Investing in our youth means investing in the future of Miami-Dade County,” said Chairman Rodriguez in a press release. “Following the strong response and impact of last year’s program, we are proud to bring back the Youth Engagement Program and expand opportunities for students to gain meaningful exposure to the legislative process and become more engaged in their communities.”
Participants in the Youth Engagement Program will gain firsthand experience in the workings of county government through a combination of educational sessions, interactive activities, and site visits. The program is designed to foster civic awareness, leadership development, and public service engagement. Students who complete the program will also receive community service hours.
