During the City of Tamarac’s Regular City Commission meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 10, the Tamarac City Commission appointed District 1 Commissioner Marlon Bolton as the City’s Vice Mayor.
Vice Mayor Bolton, who has served on the Tamarac City Commission since 2016, previously held this role in 2019. As Vice Mayor, he will assume the responsibilities of Acting Mayor whenever the Mayor is unavailable. His one-year fixed Vice Mayor term concludes in December 2026.
As Commissioner for District 1, Bolton has championed several key initiatives, including the establishment of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Commission on the Status of Women, which promotes equity and fair treatment for women. He also introduced the Medal of Honor civic award to recognize outstanding community service. Bolton currently serves as a member of the National Black Caucus of Local and Elected Officials, which brings African American municipal leaders together to share best practices and strengthen leadership networks. These efforts represent only a portion of his contributions throughout his tenure.
Vice Mayor Bolton holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and an Associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College. Professionally, he serves as the Senior Pastor of Praise Experience Church and as President of Forecast Holdings, LLC.
