Black Ambition Returns to Miami for Its 5th Year, Awarding Over $1M to Founders

Black Ambition returned to Miami for its fifth year with a two-day celebration of innovation, creativity, and rising founders. Led by Pharrell Williams and Felecia Hatcher, the national initiative once again transformed Wynwood into a hub for entrepreneurship — awarding more than $1 million in funding and resources to 25 entrepreneurs.

The first day featured Demo Day, where six breakout founders showcased bold, disruptive ideas designed to create real change across multiple industries. One of the standout moments came from Brandon Okpalobi, founder of Siyance, who revealed he almost missed the announcement entirely. He said he “was actually about to leave, so to stay and then be announced as a winner — and stand on stage alongside so many incredible CEOs and founders — was amazing. This is our first-ever investment, and it will allow us to impact more kids globally with our first-of-its-kind STEM kits.”

The night concluded with a high-energy performance by Chance the Rapper, adding even more excitement to an already electric room. During the event, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava honored Pharrell Williams and Felecia Hatcher with both an official proclamation and the Key to Miami-Dade County, recognizing their leadership and Black Ambition’s lasting impact on South Florida’s entrepreneurial community.

The second day introduced the Fundable Founders Forum, a half-day experience centered on connection, storytelling, and candid discussions about what it takes to grow, scale, and stay fundable. The sessions featured insights from leaders including Steve Stoute, CEO of UnitedMasters, who shared practical advice on strategy and sustainability for early-stage founders.

Throughout the weekend, Black Ambition brought together founders, investors, creators, and cultural leaders from across the country — each celebrated for their determination, innovation, and vision. What began as a pitch competition has evolved into a national platform uplifting new voices and new solutions shaping the future of entrepreneurship.

Congratulations to all the winners and finalists who made this year’s Black Ambition experience unforgettable.
