Teen Entrepreneur Sparks New Vegan Movement With Launch of Yuhm Vegan in Pembroke Pines

South Florida’s food scene is getting a fresh and youthful shake-up thanks to 19-year-old entrepreneur Anthony “AJ” Randolph, who has officially launched Yuhm Vegan, a new virtual kitchen concept born from his own vision and brought to life within his family’s Sweet Butter Hospitality Group. The hospitality group—known for brands like We Shuckin Southern Eatery and Juanita’s Kitchen Catering—announced the launch this week, spotlighting AJ as the creative force behind a menu redefining what plant-based comfort food can be.

AJ began working on Yuhm Vegan at just 18 years old, balancing the demands of helping run the family business with developing a brand he hopes will grow far beyond South Florida. What started as a personal idea has grown into a full culinary venture designed to make vegan dishes more appealing and accessible to the everyday eater. “Good food should simply be good food,” AJ said, emphasizing his mission to bring bold, Southern-style flavors to both vegans and non-vegans. He explained that even at We Shuckin, some of their most popular items—like the collard greens—are already vegan, though customers rarely realize it. “We never made an announcement about it because we wanted people to try it without any preconceived notions. That’s the goal with Yuhm Vegan — making delicious food that everyone can enjoy.”

Yuhm Vegan’s menu showcases AJ’s creativity and commitment to flavor-first thinking. Early favorites include a Vegan Oxtail Philly, a Vegan Fish Sandwich, and a crispy Vegan Fried Chicken Sandwich—each crafted to replicate the textures and comfort of traditional soul food. Soon, the kitchen will also roll out the Mac Daddy Vegan Mac & Cheese, aimed at giving plant-based eaters the creamy, indulgent experience they’ve been craving. The concept embodies AJ’s belief that vegan options shouldn’t feel like a compromise.

But AJ’s ambitions go far beyond recipe development. He’s openly sharing his goal to grow Yuhm Vegan into a full franchise, hoping to show other young people—especially those in his own community—that entrepreneurship is possible even at a young age. He sees Yuhm Vegan not only as a business but as a blueprint and inspiration for emerging youth entrepreneurs ready to carve their own path.

This week members of the media and social media influencers had the opportunity to get the first taste of this new concept with exclusive preview tastings hosted at the group’s Pembroke Pines location ahead of the official launch, which is Friday Nov. 14th. The event will gave guests first-hand insight into AJ’s creative process while sampling some of the signature dishes that have been months in the making.

Sweet Butter Hospitality Group, which recently expanded with a location in West Africa, aims to continue to push boundaries with new concepts and culturally rooted flavors. With Yuhm Vegan, they’re not just adding another brand—they’re co-signing a new generation of culinary innovation led by one of their own. And AJ Randolph aims to prove that age is no barrier when passion, vision, and community support come together.
