Miami Northwestern Senior High School Teen Left Bloodied After Brutal School Bathroom Battle, Arrest Made

A 15-year-old student has been arrested and faces felony battery charges after a violent bathroom attack at Miami Northwestern Senior High left 17-year-old Arianda Sharpton hospitalized with a severe forehead gash. Sharpton, who also has epilepsy, was rushed to Jackson Pediatrics Center, where she received stitches and is now recovering at home.

According to Local 10, police say she was assaulted by two classmates—one allegedly using a Stanley cup, the other a tuba. Additional students may face disciplinary action.

“My head was just pounding…I was scared I was bleeding too much because it was a lot of blood everywhere,” said Sharpton as she recounted the incident to WSVN.

With blood streaming down her face, she stated that she could not see who was assaulting her. Initially, she believed it was eight girls throwing punches.

Sharpton’s mother, Nicole Luster, told Local 10 she fears the mental toll of the beating may linger far longer than the physical wounds. In fact, she states that she did not know about the incident until Local 10 reported on it. As a result, Luster maintains that her daughter will not return to Miami Northwestern Senior High.

Community reaction to the Miami Northwestern attack has been fierce. Under WSVN’s social media post, commenters expressed deep concern.

“This is why some parents beat up kids and they mammie!!” wrote one user.

“Lock them all up, including the ones recording,” said another.

“A Stanley cup?! Lord, poor girl,” a third added.

Legal experts say that when violent acts occur on school grounds, students may face enhanced battery charges under Florida’s school violence statutes. According to the Law Offices of Robert David Malove, school battery cases in South Florida carry steeper penalties when committed on school property, including possible third‑degree felony charges for significant bodily harm.

The school district will handle disciplinary measures under the Miami-Dade Code of Student Conduct.
