Registration Now Open for Free Mammogram Screenings in Tamarac

Women in Tamarac will have the chance to access free mammogram screenings in October.

Commissioner Krystal Patterson announced that Breaking Barriers: Women’s Health will take place Monday, October 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tamarac Community Center, 8601 W. Commercial Blvd. The event is being held in partnership with the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute at Baptist Health.

The Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan will be on site, offering screenings for women ages 40 and over. Results will be available within three business days. Both insured and uninsured participants can access services at no cost, though women without insurance must still register in advance.

To take part, attendees should bring a valid ID, insurance card, and copies of any prior mammograms, if available.

Appointments can be made by calling (954) 597-3472 or registering online. For additional information, residents can also reach the Office of Commissioner Patterson at District3@tamarac.gov.
