South Florida Educators to Be Celebrated at Mavuno Project’s “Teachers United” Event This Saturday in Miami Gardens

South Florida educators are getting the spotlight they deserve at the second annual Teachers United, an appreciation event hosted by The Mavuno Project. The celebration is set for Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at JC White Architectural Interior Products in Miami Gardens.

Designed exclusively for teachers from Miami-Dade and Broward counties, the event promises a joyful morning filled with comedy, connection, and gratitude. Highlights include a comedy brunch hosted by local favorite Natasha Naomi Calloway, motivational speakers delivering uplifting messages, and a complimentary breakfast alongside networking opportunities.

The first 100 teachers to register and attend will receive goody bags stocked with classroom essentials. Additionally, a $500 school grant will be awarded to the school that brings out the most teachers.

“Our goal is to pour into those who pour into the next generation,” said organizers from The Mavuno Project, a nonprofit known for its work to prevent human trafficking and promote safe schools and communities.

Founded in 2017, The Mavuno Project conducts school-based workshops and hosts community events to raise awareness around safety and human trafficking prevention.

This year’s Teachers United is supported by title sponsors Hotwire Communications, the Miami Dolphins Foundation, Gresham Smith, and JC White. Event sponsors also include Starbucks, EdFed, Football Unites, The Education Fund, Ark Solvers, and Papa Johns.

The event is free for teachers, but registration is required.
