More than 20 talented teens and recent high school graduates from across South Florida are taking center stage this summer as part of Brévo Theatre’s Young, Gifted & Brave – Theatre for Youth conservatory. Now in its fourth year, the tuition-free program will culminate in a full-scale production of Disney’s High School Musical on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. Showtimes are at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., with tickets priced at $35.
Launched in June, the summer conservatory provides emerging performers ages 18 to 24 with professional-level training in acting, singing, and dance. Participants receive instruction from nationally working actors, choreographers, directors, and vocal coaches, giving them hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the industry.
“This conservatory is more than just a summer program—it’s a launchpad for young talent,” said Brévo Theatre co-founder Zaylin Yates in a press release. “We’re investing in the next generation of performers by offering high-quality training in a supportive, professional environment.”
Brévo Theatre created Young, Gifted & Brave to expand access to arts education, especially for students from underserved communities. The program is supported by several local organizations and cultural institutions, including the Community Foundation of Broward, Florida Theatrical Association, Arts Access Miami, and the Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department.
This year’s production of High School Musical serves as both a showcase of student growth and a celebration of themes like teamwork, self-expression, and finding your voice.
