Caribbean culture will take center stage on Fort Lauderdale Beach as The LOOP hosts its Third Annual Caribbean American Heritage Month Celebration from Friday, June 27 through Sunday, June 29, 2025. The free, three-day event promises a vibrant blend of music, art, fitness, and island flavor—honoring the culture and contributions of Caribbean Americans with a weekend full of family-friendly fun.
Kicking off the celebration on Friday night, The LOOP will screen Vivo as part of its Movies by Moonlight series. The Sony Pictures animated film, which pays homage to Cuban music and culture, will be preceded by a live performance from Cuban band Oriente and kid-friendly music crafts. Guests can also snack on traditional Cuban treats under the stars.
Saturday brings an all-day cultural experience starting with a donation-based yoga class led by Lisa Pumper. Throughout the day, attendees can shop the Caribbean Flair Marketplace, explore Caribbean-inspired art curated by the Hollywood Arts Committee, and take part in a community art project hosted by The Space Monkeys. Live music will fill the air thanks to Orquesta Sabor Latino, an eight-piece orchestra performing from noon to 3 p.m. Plus, women are invited to join a special Pilates class by Flowers for Women—free with a donation of hygiene products to support young girls in Trinidad and Tobago.
The celebration continues Sunday with even more ways to move and vibe. Start the morning with yoga led by Haitian American instructor Nzingah, then turn up the tempo with Soca Step, a high-energy fitness dance class presented by FIT Fort Lauderdale. From noon to 3 p.m., beloved Caribbean radio personality Tanto Irie will host a special Reggae Sunday featuring Lee Kelly and the Allstars.
All weekend long, the Caribbean Flair Marketplace will remain open, spotlighting handmade cultural crafts, live art demonstrations, and small businesses from across the Caribbean diaspora.
