Miami-Dade District 8 Small Businesses Can Apply for Up to $2,500 in Grant Funding

Small business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 8 have an opportunity to receive financial assistance through Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins’ Annual Mom-and-Pop Small Business Grant Program. Eligible businesses can apply for grants of up to $2,500, with applications available from Feb. 10 through Feb. 21, 2025.

To qualify, applicants must have been in operation for at least one year, not have received the grant more than twice, and must not be in default or non-compliance with any county loan or grant programs. Additionally, businesses affiliated with national chains or owners with more than two businesses are ineligible. While nonprofit organizations do not qualify, home-based businesses are encouraged to apply.

Completed applications must be hand-delivered between Feb. 24 and Feb. 28 by 4 p.m. to Commissioner Cohen Higgins’ District 8 Office at 10710 SW 211 St., Suite 103, in Cutler Bay. Applications that are illegible, incomplete, or submitted by fax will be disqualified.

Recipients of the grant must attend a mandatory business training workshop, which will be held virtually via Zoom on Feb. 19 at 10 a.m.

For more details, including verification of District 8 residency, business owners can call 305-378-6677.
