The City of Miami Gardens is excited to announce the groundbreaking of the Miami Gardens City Center located in the City’s Entertainment Overlay
District (EOD). This project, led by developers Immocorp Capital, aims to transform the landscape of the community, bringing a fresh wave of economic growth, job creation, and enhanced quality of life for its residents. The groundbreaking is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 22, 2024, 10 a.m. at Northwest 191st Street and Northwest 27th Avenue.
The new City Center, spanning over 35 acres, will feature a blend of entertainment, retail, restaurants, and living amenities designed to foster a vibrant and connected community. The development proposes two hotels, multi-family apartments, and various entertainment facilities and restaurants; including an over 100,000 sq. ft. building with several attractions.
The City Center is expected to create a number of new jobs during the construction phase and add permanent positions once the center is operational. These job opportunities will range from construction and project management roles to positions in retail and hospitality.
“Our vision is to create a City Center that serves as the heart of Miami Gardens, where people can live, work, and play,” said Mayor Rodney Harris in a press release. “We believe this development will become a cornerstone of our community, promoting a sense of belonging and pride among residents.”
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Rodney Harris will host a construction fair to connect local residents with employment opportunities on the project. The construction fair will occur on July 30, 2024, 10 a.m. at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex.
“We are committed to supporting the local economy and providing valuable employment opportunities for the residents of Miami Gardens,” added Mayor Harris in the press release. “This project is not just about building structures; it’s about building a future for our community.”
Estimated to cost approximately $400 million – $500 million, the City Center is set to redefine the landscape of the Northwest 27th Avenue corridor offering modern amenities and a central hub for social and economic activities.
