Offers Free “I Got Bank” E-Book plus $1,000 to 10 winners

AD: Baptist Health

OneUnited Bank, the nation’s largest Black-owned Bank, is extending the deadline for its 14th Annual “I Got Bank!” National Financial Literacy Contest to Friday, July 19, 2024.

Annually, the bank awards ten (10) children with a $1,000 savings account as part of its ongoing efforts to make financial literacy a core value among all youth.

Students from across the country between the ages of 8 and 12 are encouraged to read a financial literacy book of their choosing and either write a 250-word essay or create an art project to show how they would apply what they learned from the book to their daily lives. Submissions must be emailed or postmarked by the new deadline.

“OneUnited Bank advocates for teaching financial literacy in K-12 schools across America,” said Teri Williams, president and COO of OneUnited Bank, in a press release. “Our contest and free e-book make it easy to teach children about the importance of savings and investments, good credit, home ownership, having a profitable business, and other keys to building wealth!”

The Bank will choose ten winners and award each winner a $1,000 savings account at OneUnited Bank by August 31, 2024, plus a free digital copy of “I Got Bank.” For more information, please visit www.oneunited.com/book.
