Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Miami Book Fair and Sosyete Koukouy of Miami will team up once again to host the Little Haiti Book Festival, offering author presentations, booksellers, live performances, and other events centered on Haitian culture and heritage. The festival is free and open to the public.
Little Haiti Book Festival will take place in person Sunday, May 5, at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, providing a platform for authors, artists, and community leaders to share their work and insights. The festival will feature readings and discussions by acclaimed Haitian authors, with simultaneous English translation available. A
There will also be panels and workshops, as well as music by DJ Nickymix, comedy by Paul Julmeus, dance performance by NSL Dance Ensemble, and live music and performance by Tati Nuzi and friends, among other artists. Children’s activities will include storytelling, drumming, artmaking with GOGO MOAD artists, games, free books, meditation, yoga, and more.
Little Haiti Book Festival goes virtual on Sunday, May 19, offering a reprise of the in-person panels on “Artificial Intelligence in the Arts: Empowering Writers, Content Creators, and Businesses in the Digital Age” and “Haiti in the Media: Navigating Narratives of Haiti in Global Media.”
