OneUnited Bank, the only Black bank in Florida and the nation’s largest Black-owned bank, will be hosting a Free Community Food Giveaway on Saturday, April 13, 2024, 10:00 am until supplies last, at OneUnited Bank, 3275 N.W. 79th Street, Miami, FL 33147.
The food giveaway is in partnership with Joshua’s Heart Foundation (JHF), a not-for-profit, youth-run organization dedicated to the fight against global hunger and poverty on a global level. OneUnited Bank will also promote its I Got Bank Youth Financial Literacy Contest for children at the event.
“Joshua’s Heart Foundation is honored to partner with our community partner, OneUnited Bank, to distribute food to needy Miami families,” commented Claudia McLean, Executive Director of JHF in a press release. “My son, Joshua, who founded Joshua’s Heart Foundation when he was only four, set into motion a grand vision to eradicate hunger worldwide. These opportunities to reach into our neighborhoods and help so many deserving families are pivotal to achieving Joshua’s mission.”
OneUnited Bank, in the spirit of its 2024 “Banking on Love & Unity” mission, has ensured that participating families will receive a week’s worth of fresh groceries and personal care items. Each family will also receive a free Black Panther comic book that promotes financial literacy.
