The Urban Film Festival positions itself as the “largest free film festival in America”
The Urban Film Festival (UFF) stands as a premier platform dedicated to nurturing, enlightening, and offering distribution avenues for the emerging cohort of filmmakers who focus on urban narratives. Kicking off this Labor Day Weekend, September 1st-3rd, in Historic Overtown, UFF takes pride in celebrating culturally-rooted content and serving as a launchpad for up-and-coming urban filmmakers to convey the unique stories of their communities.
UFF is a dynamic hub for aspiring urban filmmakers, offering cultural diversity, interactive workshops led by industry professionals and a global stage for emerging talent. The UFF experience also offers panel discussions that provide industry insights and engaging conversations, as well as networking opportunities for like-minded filmmakers to connect.
Starting September 2nd, attendees can participate in FREE Master Classes and short film screenings at these four Miami location:

All Master Classes will take place at Red Rooster. The schedule is as follows:
- 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Writing with Shaun Mathis
- 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Cinematography with Philly Flyboy
- 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Directing with Jamal Hill
- 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Acting with Ulysses Terrero
- 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Producing with Peter Ebanks
