After the school board’s legislation on African American History caused a huge uproar across the state and the country, many organizations have taken it upon themselves to fill in the gaps and teach Black history the right way. From this came Broward County’s Saturday School Series.
Spearheaded by Broward County Library’s African American Research Library and Cultural Center, in collaboration with The Black History Project, Inc., the Saturday School Series offers middle and high school students the opportunity to learn about aspects of Black history beginning in Africa and through the modern era.
The series is currently looking for highly-driven social studies and history teachers to join its team. If you’re interested in empowering the next generation of leaders through Black history, applications for the paid, contract position are now open and can be accessed at BlackHistoryProject.Org.
