The high fashion collaboration will honor the legacy of designer Thierry Mugler.
The “Brown Beauties From Da Hood” are making their way to the top!
Miami Northwestern Dance Instructor and YCDT Creative Director Traci Young-Byron held it down for Liberty City as Choreographer for the Mugler x H&M fashion campaign.
Byron got the opportunity to hire 10 dancers and choreograph the number for the #MuglerHM music video, showcasing the upcoming collaboration between the two fashion brands.
It was important for Byron to bring her Miami Northwestern Golden Girl dancers along with her for the ride. “A Black woman from Liberty City who still resides in Liberty City opening doors for other Brown Beauties From Da Hood,” said Byron in an instagram post. “Thank you to my dancers who showed up and showed all the way out! You all look absolutely stunning in the pieces and choreography!”
Curated by Mugler’s creative director Casey Cadwallader, the collection will include womenswear, menswear and accessories.
“It is truly an honor to collaborate with H&M,” said Cadwallader in a statement. “The collection is a celebration of everything that defines Mugler as a house and each piece is authentic Mugler, from the bodysuits, which have become a signature of ours, to the sharp tailoring and worked denims. It is a showcase of our icons.”

The Mugler x H&M collection launches May 11th online and in select stores.
