Last night we all recieved the heartbreaking news that award winning actor, Chadwick Boseman, had passed away from stage four colon cancer– an illness he kept secret from the public since being diagnosed in 2016.

Just as many celebrities and people from around the world shared their online tributes, so did many in South Florida. As we mourn his death together, let’t all remember the real life super hero Chadwick Boseman was to us — especially us in the Black community. His roles gave us pride in being Black and showed the world how truly great and dynamic we are.

I remember I was able to host a special screening for @99jamzmiami the week “Black Panther” dropped & the first thing I thought of was “my boys are gonna LOVE this!” I Got us Black Panther shirts and all. They bragged about seeing the movie a few days early to everyone they could! That movie sparked something in them I hadn’t yet seen before in them. From then on, I seen the impact and significance the movie had on our community. From my own sons experience, to the countless Black Panther parties I’ve dj’ed, Chadwick really was a superhero. Not because of the role he played but because of how he inspired our Young Kings. My son Jordan randomly wore his shirt yesterday 🙏🏾 #RIPChadwickBoseman #Team2Sons #VirgoSeason
