Comedian Aida Rodriguez and Radio Royalty Supa Cindy to Headline “Hope For Tomorrow: One More Conversation” This Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

Complimentary community awareness dinner brings together parents, caregivers, mental health professionals and advocates for an evening of honest conversation, connection and suicide prevention resources.

The DRT Brain Love Foundation and Udonis Haslem Foundation, in partnership with United Way Broward, will present Hope for Tomorrow: One More Conversation, a Suicide Prevention Awareness Dinner on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 5:30–9:30 p.m. at Jacaranda Country Club in Plantation, Florida.

Held during Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, One More Conversation will bring together parents, caregivers, mental health professionals, educators, community leaders and advocates for an evening centered on the conversations that can strengthen connection, reduce stigma and help save lives.

The event is part of the annual Hope for Tomorrow initiative, which creates spaces for South Florida communities to openly address mental health, suicide prevention and the importance of showing up for one another.

“Hope begins with one more conversation. Hope for tomorrow begins with how we love and care for one another today. As a psychiatrist, I know that sometimes healing doesn’t begin with a prescription or a diagnosis. Choose ‘Brain Love’ because every life is worth fighting for.” said Dr. Delvena Thomas, founder of DRT Brain Love Foundation, Inc, in a press statement.

This year’s program will feature comedian, writer and mental health advocate Aida Rodriguez as a special guest, bringing her perspective and personal experiences to an evening designed to balance meaningful dialogue with connection and community.

The program will also include conversations featuring individuals with lived experience, mental health professionals and community voices, as well as a youth perspective panel designed to help adults better understand the mental health challenges young people are navigating today, including the influence of technology, social media and an increasingly digital world.

A moderated conversation will further explore the deeply personal impact of suicide loss and the importance of creating supportive communities for individuals and families affected by it.

“Hope for Tomorrow has always been about creating spaces where people feel supported, heard and connected,” said Shelly-Ann King, Executive Director of the Udonis Haslem Foundation, in a press release. “With One More Conversation, we’re bringing parents, caregivers and community members together to remind each other that checking in, listening and simply being present can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.”

Guests will also have access to community mental health resources and organizations working throughout South Florida to expand awareness, education and support.

Attendance for Hope for Tomorrow: One More Conversation is complimentary, but advance registration is required and space is limited.
