South Florida hopefuls could soon hear those famous words: “Come on down!”
Toyota of Hollywood and CBS Miami are teaming up for an open casting call for The Price Is Right on Friday, Aug. 28, giving local contestants a chance to compete for a spot on the long-running game show.
The casting call will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. inside the Toyota of Hollywood showroom at 1841 N. State Rd. 7 in Hollywood.
Hosted by Drew Carey, The Price Is Right is television’s longest-running game show, where contestants compete for cash and prizes by guessing the prices of various items.
During the South Florida casting call, participants will have approximately 30 seconds to audition on camera. Casting producers may ask questions such as why they want to be on the show or what would make them a great contestant.
Two semifinalists will be selected from the local casting call and will receive a trip to Los Angeles for an additional interview. From there, one of the semifinalists could ultimately be selected to compete on an episode of The Price Is Right.
Admission to the casting call is free, and no purchase is necessary. Participants must check in at the registration table before auditioning and complete a contestant application, release and waiver.
Organizers are encouraging hopeful contestants to download and complete the required forms before arriving. Only one application per person will be accepted.
Participants must be legal U.S. residents currently living in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C., and must be at least 18 years old at the time of application. Additional eligibility requirements apply.
CBS Miami may close the registration line at any time to ensure everyone who is in line has an opportunity to audition before the 1 p.m. end time.
