Broward County Animal Care (BCAC) is inviting families across South Florida to open their homes to new furry friends this fall. In honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, the agency has kicked off its “Fall in Love – Empty the Shelters” adoption campaign, running October 1–15 at its Fort Lauderdale location.
In partnership with the Bissell Pet Foundation, adoption fees are waived for all pets during the two-week event. Every adopted dog or cat will be vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped. A $25 pet registration fee still applies.
“October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and there’s no better time to bring home a new best friend,” said Doug Brightwell, Director of Broward County Animal Care. “Our Fall in Love campaign gives residents the chance to give shelter pets a new start. With support from the Bissell Pet Foundation, we’re removing barriers so more families can experience the joy and love that come from adopting.”
The adoption event runs daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the BCAC shelter, located at 2400 SW 42nd Street, Fort Lauderdale.
Residents can browse available dogs and cats online at PetAdoptions.Broward.org before visiting in person.
