Greater Miami and Miami Beach are officially among the top 10 global sports destinations, according to Burson’s 2025 Ranking of Sport Cities. The ranking places Miami at No. 8 worldwide, a major jump from No. 16 just two years ago.
The recognition highlights Miami’s growing reputation as a year-round hub for elite sports and global competition. Already home to marquee events like the Orange Bowl, Miami Open, Miami Marathon, and Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, the region has recently added five new annual events:
- PGA Tour Signature Event
- E1 Power Boat Series
- Formula E
- Unrivaled Women’s Basketball
- HYROX Fitness Festival
Earlier this year, Miami also hosted the FIFA Club World Cup, further solidifying its place on the international stage.
“This top 10 global ranking reaffirms the collective power and influence of our sports and event partners,” said David Whitaker, President & CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.

What’s Next for Miami Sports
Over the next year, Miami will welcome some of the biggest events in the world, including:

Miami’s sports legacy already includes hosting a record-tying 11 Super Bowls and decades of tradition with the Orange Bowl.
