Overtown is about to feel like one big cookout. The Family Reunion Fest is back and taking over Dorsey Park on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a full day of music, culture, and fun — all with free admission.
This celebration of family and community is headlined by musical royalty including Estelle, Melanie Fiona, Carl Thomas, and Tito Puente Jr.. The lineup also features a “Gospel Explosion” sure to uplift the crowd and bring that Sunday morning energy to Saturday afternoon. Attendees will vibe out at themed music zones like Doo-Wop (all R&B soul music), The Sample (old school vs new school), Who’s Era (80s, 90s, 2000s), Island Wave (Dancehall, Afrobeats, Latin vibes), and The 305 (Miami music tribute) — giving everyone a taste of the sounds they grew up on or love now.
But this isn’t just a party — it’s a community gathering designed to be fun for the whole family. The Youth Zone will be packed with all-day excitement including a Gaming Truck, Mini Golf Fun Zone, Take-Home Art Activities, Inflatable Competitions, and multiple Bubble Shows throughout the day (at noon, 3 p.m., and 6 p.m.). This makes the event perfect for parents who want to bring their kids along for the fun without worrying about keeping them entertained.
Presented in part by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Keon Hardemon and City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, the event is supported by the Simkins Family Foundation and TheOMAF.com. It continues to build on its mission of honoring legacy, unity, and joy in Black and Brown Miami communities.
Mark your calendars, gather the fam, and get ready for a full-day vibe. Dorsey Park (located at 1701 NW 1st Ave.) will be the place to be for a cultural experience that feels like home — music, family, and free fun included.
