Miami Gardens is turning up the volume and repping the islands heavy with the upcoming Sounds of the Caribbean celebration, going down Saturday, June 28 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Carol City Park on 185th Street. This free, family-friendly event, curated by radio vet Papa Keith, is all about honoring Caribbean Heritage Month by shining a spotlight on one of the region’s most iconic cultural staples—DJs and sound systems.
Hosted by the one and only Majah Hype, the event is pulling together some of the hottest names in Caribbean music. Sounds like Innocent Sound, Prodigy Movements, Xtatic Sound, House Arrest, DJ Ivory, and DJ Bulletproof will be repping Jamaica, The Bahamas, Barbados, and more. The park will be filled with nonstop music, Caribbean food trucks serving up island flavor, and a special guest artist you won’t want to miss. And if you’re bringing the kids, know that kids eat free, and there will be a dedicated Kids Zone to keep the little ones entertained while you enjoy the vibes.
The event is being powered by the City of Miami Gardens, Miami-Dade County, Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert, II, Palmetto Homes, 103.5 The Beat, and Just Vote. Papa Keith is also showing support for the culture, helping bring visibility to this celebration of Caribbean sound and community.
This is more than just a party—this is a cultural experience that highlights the powerful influence of Caribbean music and DJs who keep the traditions and energy alive from Kingston to Carol City. Whether you’re pulling up for the food, the music, or the family-friendly atmosphere, Sounds of the Caribbean is where Miami Gardens is showing love to the diaspora loud and proud.
