Animal Care Waives Fees and Solicits Community to Address Shelter Overcrowding
Broward County Animal Care, the County’s official pet adoption and animal welfare agency, is issuing an urgent call to action to confront overcrowding. With kennels full and more pets arriving daily, Animal Care is asking the public to support them by adopting, fostering, or simply sharing the message to help place pets into loving homes.
“We are in a space crisis,” declared Doug Brightwell, Broward County Animal Care Director, in a press release. “Our shelter is filled with amazing pets—dogs and cats of all ages and personalities—who are just waiting for a second chance. We’re asking our community to open their hearts and homes to help us create the space we desperately need.”
Here’s how the public can help:
Adopt: Give a homeless pet a forever home.
Foster: Provide temporary care—even a few days makes a difference.
Share: Amplify our message through your social media and personal networks.
