As summer approaches, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert is reaffirming his commitment to youth safety and community enrichment through the 2025 Safe Summers Initiative. The program aims to expand opportunities for young people by providing supplemental funding to enhance existing summer programs in District 1.
Local organizations offering youth summer programs are encouraged to apply for funding to help broaden their reach and impact. The initiative is designed to ensure more children in District 1 have access to fun, safe, and engaging experiences during the summer break.
To be eligible, programs must be located within District 1 and serve children and families in the community during the summer months.
The deadline to apply is Friday, April 18, 2025. All required documentation must be submitted with the application.
