West Palm Beach Honors Dr. Jamian Lovett with Black History Month Heritage Proclamation

City of West Palm Beach Commissioner Christina Lambert (District 5) presents Pastor Lovett with a proclamation.

In celebration of Black History Month, the City of West Palm Beach Commission honored Dr. Jamian Lovett, Senior Pastor of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, with a proclamation recognizing him as a 2025 Black History Month Heritage Honoree. The ceremony took place on Monday, February 3, 2025, and highlighted Dr. Lovett’s impactful leadership and contributions to the community.

Dr. Lovett, who has led Friendship, one of the city’s oldest Black churches, since April 2023, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition. “I am a vessel for the will of God,” he stated. “Everything that He allows me to do is for His glory. It is a gracious honor to receive the Black History Month 2025 Award because it acknowledges all that God is doing through me, my wife, my family, and the Friendship congregation for the betterment of those living in the community surrounding the Church.”

Raised in Riviera Beach, Florida, Dr. Lovett has made significant strides in uplifting the community through his leadership. Under his guidance, Friendship has partnered with Integrated Healthcare Systems to launch the Friendship Health Clinic. This onsite, pop-up clinic offers essential health services including screenings, case management, and mobile showers for individuals in need.

Dr. Lovett’s community-driven initiatives have also led to an ongoing collaboration between Friendship, Farm Shares, and Rose Trolley, resulting in a successful drive-thru food distribution program. To date, over 4,000 families have received free groceries, significantly impacting local families facing food insecurity.

Further expanding his efforts, Dr. Lovett facilitated the partnership between Friendship and the Solomon Leadership Program to establish the Northwest Wisdom Academy and its West Palm Beach Chapter. This marks a historic achievement, as Friendship became the first Christian congregation nationwide to join the program.

“Pastor Lovett and the Friendship congregation positively impact the local community by addressing many of the individuals’, youth’s, and families’ needs,” said Commissioner Christina Lambert on Dr. Lovett’s work. “I am delighted to publicly acknowledge his accomplishments and the phenomenal work he is completing in the West Palm Beach community.”

Dr. Lovett’s efforts continue to inspire and make a meaningful difference in the lives of many in West Palm Beach, reflecting the true spirit of service and leadership during Black History Month.
