Dirty politics seem to be at play as an arrest has been made after a man allegedly vandalized and defaced campaign posters for Miami-Dade District 3 Commissioner Keon Hardemon.
According to The Miami Times, approximately 30 of Hardemon’s posters have been either defaced or ripped down over the past couple of weeks, with damages costing over $4,000.
Hardemon told Channel 7 News he is hopeful that the vandalism will end now that an arrest has been made.
“Anyone participating in a campaign should be free from the worry that someone will damage their campaign paraphernalia,” Hardemon told WSVN. “I hope that now this behavior stops, as someone has been arrested, for a felony nonetheless, for damaging people’s property.”
Commissioner Hardemon is running against former Distict 3 County Commissioner, Audrey Edmonson, and Marion Brown, owner of a construction firm. The primary election for this race is August 20th.
