Chairman Oliver Gilbert Now Accepting Applications for 2024 Summer Youth Internship Program

 The Office of Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III is now accepting applications for the 2024 Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP). For over 19 years, District 1 has granted young people in the community opportunities to gain valuable experience while earning income through summer employment.

The Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP) is an opportunity for deserving young men and women of District 1 to acquire important business skills and gain exposure to real-world business environments. Business partners will hire one or more deserving and capable high school and/or college student(s) for 20-30 hours a week. High school students will earn a minimum of $15 per hour and college students will earn a minimum of $18 per hour. To be eligible for the program, interns must be between 16 and 23 years old.

Applications are due by Friday, May 10. This year’s program will take place from June 10 – Aug. 2, 2024.
