Danielle A. Sherriff Becomes First Haitian-American Judge in Palm Beach County History

Sherriff’s appointment paves the for diversity in the judiciary

Congratulations are in order as Danielle A. Sherriff is the first Haitian-American appointed Judge on the Palm Beach County Court. She will be appointed Judge of the Daniel T.K. Hurley Courthouse.

As an experienced trial attorney, Danielle has tried over 100 jury and non-jury trials. Ms.Sherriff also served a personal injury attorney. Previously, she worked for Lesser, Lesser, Sandy and Smith  and before that as an assistant state attorney from 2008-21, eventually becoming chief of the traffic homicide unit.

Sherriff moved to South Florida during her high school years. She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law.
