Overtown Youth Center Partners with Amerant Bank to Provide Financial Resources to Youth and Families in South Florida

This collaboration aims to provide underserved families with the necessary tools to achieve long-term financial success.

On July 5th, the Overtown Youth Center announced their exciting new partnership with Amerant Bank, the largest community bank headquartered in the state of Florida.

This partnership will allow OYC to leverage Amerant’s financial expertise and provide community members with programs that teach financial literacy, budgeting skills, money management and more! The bank will also have the distinction of being named a partner in OYC Miami’s new facility, where a classroom will be dedicated to hosting financial literacy workshops for middle schoolers.

“Our partnership with the Overtown Youth Center represents a shared commitment to empower the next generation with essential financial skills,” said Jerry Plush, Chairman and CEO at Amerant Bank, in a company news release. “We are excited to work alongside the OYC team to make a tangible difference in the lives of these young individuals.”

Alonzo Mourning and Jerry Plush celebrate the new partnership between Amerant Bank and Overtown Youth Center (OYC Miami).

As for OYC founder and NBA Hall-of-Famer Alonzo Mourning, the partnership with Amerant Bank will allow him to continue his mission to “help and serve people in our community.”
