Music producer and South Florida native DJ Khaled was honored in Miami as a Hometown Hero
When DJ Khaled said “All I do is win!”, he wasn’t lying!
On Wednesday, May 17th, the music mogul and Miami native was honored by the Miami-Dade County School Board for his contributions to music & entertainment, as well as his generous philanthropic work. School board member Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall presented Khaled with the award.
“Miami’s part of my legacy and my life, and it’s all about the kids,” Khaled said in an interview with Channel 7 news. “I was once a kid in Miami, I grew up in Miami. I’d do anything for the kids in Miami and in the world.”
Khaled’s philanthropic efforts include providing medical supplies and resources to healthcare workers during the COVID pandemic, donating thousands of dollars to Miami-Dade County schools, and offering a number of scholarships to high school students through his We The Best Foundation.
