Island Space Caribbean Museum will be teaming up with the Community Foundation of Broward to host Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed & Unbowed, an immersive and interactive one-woman play, written and performed by Ingrid Griffith.
The play tells the story of Shirley Chisholm, a Brooklyn-born daughter to Caribbean immigrants who would go on to become the first African-American woman to run for the Presidency of the U.S. in the 1960s and 1970s.
Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed & Unbowed is showing on Sunday, May 14th at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. The matinee show will be from 2:30pm-5:00pm with group tickets options for the whole family. All proceeds will go towards Island SPACE Caribbean Museum to support their mission of the promotion of the arts and history of the Caribbean.
