Jack Daniel’s 2023 Classic Remix Collection Created by Young Black Fashion Designers Kristopher Kites and Nigeria Ealey

Jack Daniel’s Classic Remix Collection teamed up with two young Black male designers making moves in the fashion industry for it’s third year. According to Hypebeast, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey and Tennessee Apple tapped jewelry designer Kristopher Kites and Creative Director of TIERNigeria Ealey, to put their distinctive twists on one of a kind limited edition collection of clothing and accessories.

Hypebeast created a series entitled “Behind the Moodboard” that will capture each artist’s design process, pulling the curtain behind their inspirations and the cultural influences that brought their pieces to life. Their lines debuted to a packed house at HBX New York on April 6th and showcased vignette-style snapshots and behind-the-scenes footage of each creator at work. The designs were displayed on large glass fixtures for all to view while they sipped on fashion themed Jack Daniel’s drinks.

The Jack Daniel Distillery announced the third year of its Classic Remix Grant Program back in January, which is a fashion-focused grant geared towards supporting the next generation of streetwear designers. The grant will reward three innovative designers by matching 100% of the garment sales from the 2023 Classic Remix Collection totaling up to $100,000. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey and Tennessee Apple continue to align themselves with the culture to support the next generation of designers through this initiative.

Beyond financial support, the Classic Remix Grant Program also provides mentorship and exposure. Past winners of the program include Justin Mensinger, and Alex Carter Brand, who have gone on to create thriving brands through the support of this grant. This year’s judges will be the returning 2021 Classic Remix design collaborators including namesake brand and designer Sheila Rashid, Ouigi Theodore of the BK Circus and 2021 grant winner turned 2022 design collaborator Justin Mensinger. The winners of the grant will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Jack Daniel’s is thrilled to bring our Classic Remix Grant Program back for a third year to help showcase trend setting streetwear designers and bring opportunities to the next generation of emerging talent,” said Keenan Harris, Director of Multicultural Marketing for Jack Daniel’s. “Jack Daniel’s values creators who inspire us daily and we look forward to connecting to and investing in future fashion icons.”
