He and Commissioner Monestime have teamed up again along with 103.5 the Beat and Papa Keith 4 People Matter Foundation (PK4PM) to host a 24 Hour Cease Fire to stop gun violence in Miami-Dade County.
“Hosting this event in Liberty City means so much to me because we get to provide a fun and safe experience for the youth in this community,” said Keith. “The inner-city deserves to have world class events and entertainment like this right in their own backyard.”
Keith went on to share his mission behind the event.
“For me it’s so important to share with the youth the intention of the 24-Hour Cease Fire. With this initiative, we’re hoping to save lives and bring peace in the community. We know during the summer months when school is out, youth and gun violence increases. We’re hoping that this events helps to change that and change the minds of people who might not make the best decisions when it comes to using a gun to commit crimes. We know one event won’t solve all the community’s problems in one day, but we hope that we can help be the catalyst to spark change.”
The 24 Hour Cease Fire will begin Thursday June 16th at 7pm and end June 17th at 7pm at the close of the family fun day celebration. Event organizers ask that the community helps them in spreading the word to make the 24-hour Cease Fire a success.
