Florida International University will highlight the story of civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer this Thursday.
University of Saint Joseph Professor Pablo Correa will screen his film “Fannie Lou Hamer’s America” (2020) and lead a Q&A discussion at the FIU South Campus. The documentary film tells the story of Hamer’s fight for freedom and human rights through her public speeches, personal interviews and songs. It features several key players in the Civil Rights Movement.
The screening is 3 p.m., Thursday, April 7 at the FIU Modesto A. Maidique Campus, 11200 SW 8th St., Miami, Room: SIPA 1000
