Miami Gardens Councilman @rlstephens has launched a scholarship program for high school seniors.
The program awards $1,000 each academic year to high school graduates with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
Students must have 100 volunteer hours, demonstrate financial need, and be accepted by an accredited vocational/trade school, college or university within six months of high school graduation.
Those applying should also be prepared to write a 400-word essay on their academic or career goals. The deadline to apply is April 14.
