Miami Gardens Councilman Robert Stephens III to Host Job Fair At Betty Ferguson Rec Complex

Councilman Robert Stephens, III is partnering with MDC and OIC of South Florida to host a Job Fair and Miami Dade College Day in the City of Miami Gardens.

Residents who wish to further their education will receive information on the various programs offered at Miami Dade College North and Medical campuses. Programs at the medical campus include: Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, Medical Coder Biller, Pharmacy Technician, Massage Therapy, Vision Care/Opticianry, and Histologic Technology. The Medical Recruitment Department will also be present.

Representation from the North Campus will be available for the following: School of Science, School of Justice, School of Entertainment and Design Technology, School of Continued Education and Professional Development, Funeral Service Education/Mortuary Science, Trio Student Support Services, Single Stop, New Student Center, Financial Aid, and the Dean’s Office.

Local businesses such as: Starbucks, Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, Chick-Fil-A, Pollo Tropical, Papa John’s, Amazon, Miami Gardens Police Department, Walmart, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Lunacon Construction Group, Phillips Concessions, and Top Golf will also be on hand to discuss job opportunities. 

The event is open to residents of Miami Gardens, high school students interested in dual enrollment, high school graduates and the Miami Gardens workforce. Additionally, the initiative aims to assist residents who lost employment during the pandemic.

Councilman Stephens, who spearheads this initiative said, “I am eager for our residents to take advantage of this great opportunity to interact with Miami Dade College staff and local employers. It is my hope that these interactions will empower our workforce population and future scholars to immediately pursue their career and professional aspirations.”
