Harris Public Relations to Host Free Business Workshop “Unpacking your Business Toolkit”

Harris Public Relations is hosting a free business workshop tonight at the CIC Miami building from 6:30pm- 8:30pm. The workshop is a part of events Yvette Harris, curator and President of Harris Public Relations, started this past January titled the “Cultural Conversations Series.” The topic of today’s workshop is “Your Business is YOUR Business-Set it up to win.”

““Scaling your business is hard. It’s one thing to come up with an idea about a business, but it’s another thing to actually implement all the things that need to go into place to actually grow your business,’ Said Harris. “So we’re hoping this workshop will provide attendees with skills and tools that they can pack in their tool kit to be able to expand their business and possibly start and business grow their business”

This series is part of an ongoing commitment to global arts, culture, business, and community issues. The goal is to provide a platform for interesting and engaging dialogue to inspire greater participation and passion for engagement in the community.

“I started the cultural conversation series just to be more intentional about sharing information, sharing some of my contacts and some of the amazing people that I know that have resources and information,” Harris said. “I started this to engage in dialogue and to inspire people to participate more in their communities whether it be through businesses or whether it’s through arts and culture.”

This workshop is for nonprofits, small businesses and entrepreneurs who want to positively grow their business and create a strategy that aligns with their core values, vision, and lifestyles. Featured panelist and speakers include Ed Ponder a CEO and President of Rednop Management Group, Kimra Major-Morris a Principal/Intellectual Property Attorney, Gerri Lazarre a CPA-Managing Partner and owner of TriMergeCPA and Asa Sealy a Branding Specialist. Harris said attendees should leave the workshop feeling prepared to take their business to the next level.

“We’re looking for attendees to leave equipped with the tools to take the next step on their entrepreneurial journey whether it’s trademarking and protecting their intellectual property, whether it’s business finance, their taxes, getting their paperwork in order or learning how to market and publicize their businesses,” she said. “All of those different things take time and take a certain skill set and knowledge to be able to grow. So we’re hoping that this will provide them with all those essential tools.”
