Carol SEA-Day Offers Free Outdoor Activities for Kids On June 9th

Florida International University and Miami Carol City High School alum, William Davis, will be giving back to his community with his 2nd Annual Carol SEA-Day event on June 9th in Miami. Davis, also known as Willo, will treat students from Miami Gardens, Carol City High School and their parents to a day out on the water, all free of charge.

Davis is a recreational therapist at the non-profit Shake-A-Leg Miami, which provides unforgettable outdoor marine experiences for children. He partnered with them to create and launch this annual event. The inaugural event drew 60 young boys and girls from Miami Gardens and was a huge hit. This year, Davis hopes to give more children from his neighborhood a chance to experience what he has via these outdoor activities.

Carol SEA-Day Founder, William Davis, poses with guests at past Carol SEA-Day event.

“During my time at Shake-A-Leg Miami I noticed a void in the participation of youth from Miami Gardens specifically Carol City. I often fancied the idea of youth from Carol City getting the opportunity to experience what I experienced. Soon after graduating with my Bachelors in Recreational Therapy, the idea I so often fancied became viciously engrossing. I’d eventually sought out a way to have youth from my community have their very own day to enjoy the wonders of water,” said Davis.

At this year’s event will take place June 9, 2019 children who participate will get to Kayak, Swim, Paddle board, and sail free of charge. Lunch and Photo ops will also be donated and available to the participants.
